Detsky Mir opens 108 playrooms in 2017

The Charitable Foundation of the Detsky Mir Group of Companies, the largest retailer of children’s products in Russia, presented the results of “Operation Toys” Charity Program.

In 2017 Detsky Mir opened 108 playrooms in 30 medical and social institutions of the country. New playrooms appeared in 20 cities across the country: Volgograd, Ekaterinburg, Nazran, Nizhny Novgorod, Petrozavodsk, Pyatigorsk, Rostov-on-Don, Ryazan, Smolensk, Shabalin, Turochak (Republic of Altai) and many others. Within a year, the investments in the project exceeded RUB 11.5 mln, which is 1.5 times more than in 2016.

“The goal of Operation Toys Program is to create a comfortable atmosphere for children in hospitals and help speed up the recovery process. Detsky Mir not only donates the toys and decorates the rooms; if necessary the company finances repairs and purchases furniture. In four years Detsky Mir Group of Companies opened 289 rooms in dozens of cities of the country,” said Nadezhda Kiseleva, Head of the Directorate of External and Internal Communications of Detsky Mir Group of Companies.

The playroom collection also includes books on developing speaking, memory, thinking and attention skills, dictionaries on different topics, and musical instruments. Every child will find something to enjoy!

Since 2013 playrooms were arranged in children’s medical establishments in 47 cities of the country: Moscow, St. Petersburg, Kazan, Kaliningrad, Smolensk, Tula, Rostov-on-Don, Perm, Nazran, Grozny, Vladikavkaz, Kurgan, Nalchik, Nizhny Tagil, Segezha and many others. In 2018 the Operation.Toys project will continue.
